From touring internationally as a sideman for major label acts to writing and performing his own original material, Shawn has lived in every corner of the music world. As a producer, engineer, and mixer, Shawn has worked with a wide range of artists across genres including Country, Americana, Indie Rock, Folk, Indie Folk, New Wave, Post Punk, Garage Punk, Bluegrass, Surf Rock, and Neo-Traditional Honky Tonk. His strength lies in helping artists uncover and develop their unique sonic identity, guiding them from pre-production through to the final master, all while staying within a realistic budget. Shawn has a talent for capturing the essence of an artist’s individuality, creating recordings that are both authentic and distinctive. He doesn’t just make records—he helps artists stand out.

Outside the studio, Shawn leads his indie rock band, Shawn Byrne & Friendly Fire. Blending guitars and synths, the group delivers a dynamic sound that draws strong inspiration from the Post-Punk and New Wave scenes of the early '80s.
